Our third event on the Horseshoe Tour this year is out west again, in Winnemucca, NV on August 18-19. This is our second event in Winnemucca, a tournament that is played indoors at the Event Center, and on portable courts. The facility is one of the best we’ve ever played at, Kim Peterson and his staff do a great job getting everything ready for play. Winnemucca is located in northern Nevada, there is plenty to do there, including ghost towns, gold mines, casinos, and even two tournaments on the weekend prior to the tour event. We had a great event there last year, it will be even better this year!

The Clarksville Civitan Park/Horseshoe Tour tournament is June 2-3, deadline for entries is May 23rd. The facility has 20 courts, 10 which are recently covered, so the tournament will go on regardless of weather. We expect a really nice event this year, so get your entry in!

A reception will be held at the Best Western Plus (host hotel) from 6:00 to 8:00 PM for players and family members. Drinks and finger food will be available.

This year, there will be food available at the courts, through a local vendor, who will be serving breakfast sandwiches and lunch.

The host hotel for the Clarksville, TN Horseshoe Tour Event is the Best Western Plus. Room rates for the hotel is $104 plus tax per night, (regular $128 per night) Friday and Saturday nights only, and make sure you ask for the “Horseshoe Tour” rate. The Best Western Plus in Clarksville, TN (host hotel) has added rooms, and extended the room block until Monday, May 28th, in order to accommodate players entering the tournament near the deadline. Over the last 9 years, the Horseshoe Tour has used several diverse ways to break ties, but at most tournaments we still spend a great amount of time after the first day of qualifying is completed, going through this process. In some cases, players leave the site before the final stats are posted, and we must locate them and get them back to the courts just to pitch a minimum number of shoes, (down and back in most cases). Much of the time, players choose not to even return, so our staff has decided to try and solve this time-consuming problem by going back to a system we used briefly in the past…… your “entering average” as a tie breaker. This gives some meaning to you regular season average on Natstats also and worked very well we used it.

Starting in 2018, your entering average, or seed number on your round robin card, will determine who gets a tied spot after qualifying.
